WAPO - U.S. Surgeon General Vivek H. Murthy, the nation’s top doctor, understands the danger of the loneliness epidemic.
Defined as a subjective feeling of wanting social contact but feeling alone, loneliness is not only associated with higher rates of depression and anxiety but also physical consequences such as cardiovascular disease, dementia and early mortality. According to a 2021 Harvard report, more than 1 in 3 Americans struggle with loneliness.
Fortunately, Murthy has some advice for how to rebuild social connection, as he laid out in a recent wide-ranging discussion.

McKnight’s - Perceived stress may be linked to cognitive impairment in older adults, according to a new study involving 24,000 participants. The findings point to a need for regular clinical screening and targeted interventions for stress in this population, investigators say.
Observation - can someone define “perceived”? You think you are stressed but your not or you can contain it??
MyndVR and Stage Access Team to Bring Classical Music and Performances to Virtual Reality Therapy for Older Adults
Business Wire - MyndVR, a provider of VR-based, digital therapeutic experiences designed for the aging population, announced that it has partnered with Stage Access, the streaming service dedicated to music, ballet, opera and the performing arts.
Observation - It is not widely known that you can live-stream in-the-moment to these VR services. In the case above, they are using pre-taped segments, therefore not live-streaming. A company like Rendever is doing educational streams. Sage Stream could help both because our musical streams are live and interactive.
