Observation - This adds to a growing body of evidence of the impact of music in health. That is why the idea of social prescribing, using the arts to replace medical and pharma interventions is so needed.

Welcome Christian Touring Artist Art Salvagno to the Roster
Please welcome my childhood friend and first bandmate, Arthur Salvagno, Sr. to the roster. He is a touring Christian Guitarist / Vocalist & Founder Battle4Children Charities.
Art is the founder and CIO of Battle4Children, a non-profit 501c3. From Art’s 36-year law enforcement career, 14 of which he investigated child sexual and physical abuse cases while with the Philadelphia Police Special Victims Unit, Art found a need to raise awareness for families and their children in order to help bring down the already high number of cases in Philadelphia. Battle4Children supports organizations who provide trauma specific therapy and related services with funds to help speed up necessary treatment.
To accomplish these objectives, Art performs his original and cover Christian music at various area churches, Christian Coffeehouses and functions throughout the country and Canada. Find out more.

Secrets to Aging Gracefully: Researchers Uncover Factors Linked to Optimal Aging

Observation - that is why my wife will outlive me.
Want to be healthier? Hang out with your friends.
WAPO - A growing body of research shows friends are essential to a healthy life — and they are just as important for our well-being as healthy eating habits or a good night’s sleep.
Older adults who walk 3 or 4 miles daily see lower heart disease rates
WAPO - Older adults who walk three to four miles a day — 6,000 to 9,000 steps — were found to be 40 to 50 percent less likely to suffer a heart attack or stroke than those who walk a mile (2,000 steps) a day, according to research published in the journal Circulation.
AARP calls for assisted living oversight, expanded care options following neglect violations
McKnight’s - AARP South Carolina, describing the violations and conditions — including lack of food, no staffing, no heat, unsanitary conditions and medication errors — as “unacceptable,” called on state lawmakers to “respond immediately to the clear and dire need to improve oversight of assisted living and other long-term care facilities, and expand care options that make it possible for more seniors to age in their own homes.”
Working at 76: Inflation forces hard choice for older adults
AP - Inflationary pressures may be starting to ease, but higher prices throughout much of 2022 are still taking a toll on older adults, with a larger share of people saying they felt their finances were worse off than a year before. Latest COVID shot cuts hospitalizations in seniors by 81 percent: study
McKnight’s - Seniors who receive an omicron-adapted booster shot are 81% less likely to be hospitalized with severe COVID-19, according to a new study from Israel. The news is “some of the first evidence of the jab’s real-world effectiveness,” Reuters reported.
Observation - all well and good but the uptake by seniors in care homes is not optimal. I think a little over 50% and staff rates of vaccinations are worse.
